Dr. G.S. SELVAM, M.Sc, M. Phil., and Ph.D Professor & Head:


Dr. G. S. Selvam, Professor and Chair of Department of Biochemistry at the Madurai Kamaraj University, Tamilnadu, India. He received B.Sc., degree in chemistry and M.Sc., degree in Biochemistry from the Madras University. He was awarded M.Phil and Ph.D in Biochemistry from the same University.

He was one of the Founder and Head, in the Department of Biotechnology at Cochin University of Science and Technology (1989-1999) and later on he moved to Madurai Kamaraj University (1999) and continuing his research on Medical and Environmental biochemistry in the Department of Biochemistry as Professor and Head.


Current research Interests :


Development of molecular marker for Cardiac diseases and oral cancer.
Therapeutic approaches to control kidney stone formation.
Bioremediation of heavy metal contaminated soil using Pseudomonas sp.
Molecular aspects of Diabetes.
